We are grateful to Family Promise for helping our family during one of the most challenging chapter of our lives. On May 10, 2012, we lost our apartment. Baby James was on the way and it was just Chris working at that time. FP welcomed us into their network and it has been a life changing experience for us. Our eyes were opened that alot of people suffer from homelessness. Being homeless is like a stigma; it is something that we were not proud about. But we are so blessed that we met FP and they let us in their network for 2 weeks, and used their resources so we could move in another apartment, just in time that our baby James was born!
Now, James just turned 4 months old and his proud big sister, Charity would be 2 years old next week. Mary came home late from work last night, and just as she opens the door, Charity woke up, run to her mommy, gave her a hug, and for the first time said, “miss you.” We are now living a simple, modest life. Chris is still working at the bank and Mary is working at a nursing home. God used FP as an instrument so we could appreciate the beauty of life. FP will always be part of our lives.
In closing we would like to share this quote from B.C Forbes. “He who has faith has an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well – even though to the world it may appear to come out most badly.” God bless everyone! 🙂 – Chris, Mary, Charity, and James
