At the onset of the pandemic, many shelters were forced to temporarily close or reduce their capacity. In an effort to ensure individuals experiencing homelessness had access to shelter, many local jurisdictions including the County, and the City of Wilmington in addition to the State began placing many homeless individuals/families in hotels.

Now that many families experiencing homelessness are in hotels, its important that we work to ensure they don't return to homelessness. That's why we've partnered with local jurisdictions to provide case management and resources to ensure no one returns to homelessness. Our Case Managers are working tirelessly to assist about 30 families in hotels move into permanent housing.

Alice from Kingswood United Methodist Church recently stopped by to drop off food for families and a wide variety of other supplies.

This food will be passed onto families in our care - one less thing they have to worry about as they work with our Case Managers to secure housing.

P.S. Alice put a mask on right after this photo.

Deb, a member of Resurrection Parish came by the other day with a wealth of goods that will make our families' stay at Family Promise all the better!

Deb dropped off a variety of paper goods, food, and snacks for the young ones in our program!
