Family Promise® March 6th Work Day

We are busy!  Today a youth group from New Galilee Baptist Church cleaned the FP Center.  Pastor Paul continues to provide van driver training.  Volunteers from Hockessin United Methodist and St. Philip's Lutheran brought furniture.  Work continues on the basement with our new bathroom (thanks to Theo and Janet Krapels of Westminster Presbyterian who have spent many hours of hands-on labor).  You can find our new center more easily now with the new sign!  Pictures are here.

Family Promise® Move In Day

Volunteers helped move furniture and equipment into the Family Promise® center in January.  See the complete set of pictures here.  Shown below is a worried Pastor Paul looking on (from a distance) as young men lift heavy furniture upstairs to Tamikah's office and a nice picture of our new center from the street.

Family Promise® Training

Our Family Promise® volunteers have been getting expert training from the national organization in the  month of February.  Tony McDade, expert of the Greenville, SC affiliate, is shown here providing training hosted at Grace Lutheran. We had over 35 volunteers show up on Thursday Feb 11th after the snowstorm!  What dedication!  See the full set of pictures here.

Friday Feb 12th the Coordinators were trained to provide excellent hospitality for our families.  Here they are working through a cost-of-living exercise.  Learning:  it is extremely difficult to raise a family and pay rent for a family on a minimum wage income.  Click here for the complete set of pictures at the link.
