Highlighted as One of Delaware's Top Non-Profits to Donate to This #GivingTuesday!

"Delaware does not have an official Giving Tuesday organization, at least according to the U.S. map on givingtuesday.org. But it does have Delaware Gives, a virtual fundraising platform created by Spur Impact that provides year-round fundraising as well as virtual events, such as the marathon Do More 24 Delaware event that returns on March 3 to 4. So far, more than 100 nonprofits have signed up for the 2022 Do More 24, Spur Impact Executive Director Charles Vincent told Technical.ly. Incentives for that event include a $400,000 Delaware Division of the Arts Stretch Pool.

In the meantime, it’s Giving Tuesday, and Delaware nonprofits are putting on their fundraising hats and encouraging people to give what they can this year.

On the DE Gives platform:

  • Serviam Girls Academy, a tuition-free, donor-funded middle school for low-income girls in Wilmington is raising funds to build a “gym-a-caf-a-torium.”

  • Nativity Prep, another tuition-free middle school for disadvantaged boys, is running a campaign to support its high school and college preparatory program.

  • Family Promise of Northern New Castle County, which serves homeless families and those who are at-risk, is launching its end-of-year fundraiser that will continue at least through the holidays.

  • The Brandywine Zoo has launched its “Support An Animal!” fundraiser.

  • A friend of Children and Families First has launched a fundraiser to support the organization, which helps children facing adversity."
